The movie is based on a non-fictional book by Nicholas Pileggi about the Las Vegas scene between the 70s and 80s. De Niro gives life to Sam Rothstein, a retired gangster working as a casino manager when the past knocks at his door.

Rounders – 1998

Rounders is the movie that has introduced Matt Damon to the poker world. The actor lives Mike McDermot in the plot, an impoverished person with an exceptional talent for poker. McDermot steers away from the poker table after getting beaten to a pulp by a Russian gangster over a disagreement in the cards. Later on, he returns to the tables again to help an indebted friend escape a loan shark.

Ocean’s Eleven – 2001

Ocean’s Eleven is perhaps the movie with the most stars in the cast. After all, George Clooney played Danny Ocean, and all his eleven “helpers” are well-established Hollywood stars. Members of the group include Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Casey Affleck. The group plans a robbery on the legendary Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas in the story. The original movie was released in 1960.

Casino Royale – 2006 

Casino Royale is one of James Bond’s most famous adventures. The movie first came out in 1973 and was a tremendous success with Daniel Craig. Here, Bond’s antagonist is the mob banker Le Chiffre. One of the most dramatic scenes in the movie unfolds in the Casino Monte Carlo, in a decisive poker game.
