BBC Two has set a May premiere for Season 2 of AMC’s horror series ‘The Terror‘ the UK broadcaster has announced.
The second instalment in the Ridley Scott-produced anthology series, ‘The Terror: Infamy’ centres on Chester Nakayama (Derek Mio) and his family as they deal with the effects of WWII on Japanese-Americans while an unsettled spirit – a yurei – terrorizes their internment camp.
Featuring a number of cast and crew with deep-rooted connections to the internment of Americans of Japanese ancestry and the aftermath of Hiroshima, ‘The Terror: Infamy’ marks the first time the story of internments during WWII have been depicted on such a massive scale for television – from casting to set creation.
The series stars Derek Mio as Chester Nakayama; Kiki Sukezane (Lost in Space) as Yuko, a mysterious woman from Chester’s past; Cristina Rodlo (Miss Bala) as Luz, Chester’s secret girlfriend; Shingo Usami (Unbroken) as Henry Nakayama, Chester’s father; Naoko Mori (Everest) as Asako Nakayama, Chester’s mother; Miki Ishikawa (9-1-1) as Amy, a Nakayama family friend; and renowned actor, producer, author and activist George Takei (Star Trek) as Yamato-san, a community elder and former fishing captain. Takei, who was imprisoned in two internment camps as a child, also serves as a consultant.
‘The Terror: Infamy’ is co-created and executive produced by Alexander Woo (‘True Blood’) and Max Borenstein (‘Kong: Skull Island’, ‘Godzilla’). Woo also serves as showrunner. The series previously aired on the AMC channel in the UK and was picked up by the BBC for a second-run broadcast.
‘The Terror: Infamy‘ airs Friday 6th May 2022 at 9pm with a double-bill on BBC Two.
