‘Only Murders In The Building’ Season 3 Gets August Premiere
The joyously and wonderfully fun ‘Only Murders in the Building‘ Season 3 has landed an August 2023 premiere date on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the USA according to star and co-creator Steve Martin.
From the minds of Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman (‘This Is Us’) and John Hoffman (‘Grace and Frankie’) the series follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.
During a performance of the show “You Won’t Believe What They Look Like Today!”, which Martin performs alongside co-star Martin Short, the actor casually dropped the premiere date to the audience, saying “Catch the new season August 8.” That was followed by Short joking, “Our show is like Steve trying to pee — it streams for 33 minutes.”
We don’t know the exact plot for season three at the moment, but we do know it has something to do with the season two ending (SPOILERS…) That featured Paul Rudd playing Ben Glenroy, a renowned theatre actor and star of Oliver’s new play… who promptly drops dead, setting up the new season.
Alongside Rudd, Short, Martin and Gomez, we know the legendary Meryl Streep has joined the season three cast, along with Jesse Williams (‘Grey’s Anatomy’), Ashley Park (‘Emily in Paris’), Jeremy Shamos (‘Better Call Saul’), Linda Emond (‘Succession’), and Wesley Taylor (‘Smash’), Don Darryl Rivera (‘Let the Right One In’), Allison Guinn (‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’), and Gerald Caesar (‘Dear Evan Hansen’). In addition, Michael Cyril Creighton has been upped to series regular as the cat-loving Howard Morris.
Co-created and written by Martin and John Hoffman based on an idea by Martin, the series is produced by 20th Television. Martin and John Hoffman exec produce along with Short, Gomez, Jamie Babbitt, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal.
‘Only Murders In The Building‘ Seasons 3 will premiere Tuesday, 8th August 2023 on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the USA.
