‘The Morning Show’ Renewed For Season 4 Ahead Of Season 3 On Apple TV+

Hit Apple TV+ series The Morning Show has been renewed for Season 4, ahead of the Season 3 premiere later this year the streaming service has announced.

‘The Morning Show‘ is an unapologetically candid drama that looks at the modern workplace through the lens of the people who help wake America up. The drama pulls back the curtain on early morning TV.

Season one of the series followed the free fall of an early morning newscast in the wake of a scandal, and its struggle to survive in an era when news arrives in the palm of your hand. The second season found ‘The Morning Show’ team emerging from the wreckage of Alex (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley’s (Reese Witherspoon) actions to a new UBA and a world in flux, where identity is everything and the chasm between who we present as and who we are, really come into play.

What is a little less clear is who will star in Season 4. Both Aniston and Witherspoon technically came to the end of their contracts following Season 3, which concluded filming in February. However, the pair are also exec producers on the drama and are currently in talks to return for the fourth season, with a possible option for a fifth after that. It will somewhat depend on their schedules, as Witherspoon landed a two-season pick-up at Prime Video for her new cheerleading comedy All Stars, in which she stars and exec produces.

Alongside Aniston and Witherspoon, the series stars Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin and Marcia Gay Harden. Julianna Margulies also returns reprising her role as “Laura Peterson”, and they are joined by a number of new cast members in Season 3.

New cast includes Jon Hamm (‘Mad Men’) who joins as “Paul Marks”, a corporate titan who sets his sights on UBA, pulling Cory (Crudup), Alex and Bradley into his powerful orbit; Tig Notaro (‘Star Trek: Discovery’) is set to play “Amanda Robinson”, the chief of staff to the aforementioned corporate titan; Nicole Beharie (‘Sleepy Hollow’) will star as “Christina Hunter”, a grounded, competitive, and charismatic Millennial who is a new anchor on The Morning Show. Christina works hard, plays hard, and navigates the Teacup with good-humoured irreverence; And the legendary British icon Stephen Fry joins as “Leonard Cromwell”, a ruthless UBA board member working to steer the company through troubled financial waters.

Behind the cameras, season three of ‘The Morning Show’ sees Charlotte Stoudt (‘Fosse/Verdon’, ‘Homeland’, ‘House of Cards’), take over as showrunner and executive producer, replacing Kerry Ehrin. The series is executive produced by Michael Ellenberg through Media Res, along with Aniston and Kristin Hahn through Echo Films; Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter through Hello Sunshine. Leder serves as executive producer and director.

The Morning Show‘ Season 3 does not yet have an exact premiere date but will land in Autumn 2023. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.
