‘Righteous Gemstones’ Renewed For Season 4 By HBO

Get ready for more from the twisted televangelist family, as HBO announces The Righteous Gemstones has been renewed for a 4th Season.

From Danny McBride (Vice Principals), this critically acclaimed comedy follows a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. Left flailing in the wake of their patriarch Eli Gemstone’s (John Goodman) semi-retirement, Season 3 finds Jesse (McBride), Judy (Edi Patterson), and Kelvin (Adam Devine) in charge of the vast Gemstone empire.

“Get ready for more of the hilarious adrenaline ride that is The Righteous Gemstones, commented Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, Head of HBO & Max Comedy Series. “As this truly biblical season comes to a close on Sunday night, I am delighted to announce that we are picking up a fourth season.”

In the current third season, which is airing right now on Sky Comedy in the UK, the spoiled Gemstone children finally get their wish to take control of the Church, they discover leadership is harder than they imagined and that their extravagant lifestyle comes with a heavy price…

The series is doing extremely well for HBO, with over 4.9M cross-platform viewers, making it Danny McBride’s most-watched HBO comedy surpassing both ‘Eastbound and Down’ and ‘Vice Principals’ in viewers.

‘The Righteous Gemstones’ is created and written by Danny McBride, who also directs and executive produces alongside, Jody Hill, and David Gordon Green. John Carcieri, Jeff Fradley, and Brandon James also exec produce with Jonathan Watson as co-exec producer.

The Righteous Gemstones‘ Season 3 is currently airing on Sky Comedy in the UK and on HBO and MAX in the USA.
