‘True Detective: Night Country’ Gets Trailer & January UK Premiere Date On Sky Atlantic

Sky released the new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated anthology drama series True Detective: Night Country, starring Academy Award-winner and Emmy-nominated Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, and, along with announcing it will premiere in January 2024 in simulcast with HBO the USA.

When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.

The cast includes Jodie Foster, Kali Reis, Finn Bennett, and Fiona Shaw, alongside Christopher Eccleston, Isabella Star LaBlanc, and John Hawkes. Guest stars for the season include Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, June Thiele, Diane Benson, and Joel D. Montgrand.

The showrunner for the six-episode drama is Issa López (Tigers Are Not Afraid, Valentina’s Wedding), who also serves as writer, director and executive producer. Jodie Foster also exec produces along with starring. Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, and Mark Ceryak are executive producers through PASTEL; Alan Page Arriaga (‘Shining Girls’, ‘Fear the Walking Dead’), Chris Mundy, Steve Golin, Richard Brown, Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Cary Joji Fukunaga, and Nic Pizzolatto also exec produce. Princess Daazhraii Johnson, Cathy Tagnak Rexford, and Sam Breckman are the producers.

Ahead of season 4, if you want to catch up on previous seasons of this popular crime anthology series, you can find them on Sky or via a NOW Entertainment Membership. However, it should be noted that you can go into this blind, as none of the seasons are connected to each other.

True Detective: Night Country‘ will premiere Monday, 15th January 2024 at 2am on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW in the UK in simulcast with HBO in the USA. Episodes will then be released weekly.
