‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Officially Renewed For Season 5

Moves to Peacock in the USA

by Dave Elliott

It’s finally official – Law & Order: Organized Crime has been renewed for Season 5, however, it will have a new home in the USA, as the drama moves to streaming service Peacock (it’ll make no difference to UK viewers where it airs on Sky Witness.)

The drama sees Christopher Meloni as Detective Elliot Stabler who finds strength in justice as his team fights to stop New York’s most dangerous criminal syndicates. Contending with fraught relationships at home, Stabler is fearless in his determination to bring the darkness of corruption to light – no matter the cost.

The move to Peacock in the USA comes after the drama sat behind all the other Dick Wolf series on NBC, but did far better on the streaming service. ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ is somewhat darker and more serialised than the other L&O series, which seems to be the suggested reason why it works better for Peacock. The only major change the move brings is that it is likely to be a shorter, 10-episode season, rather than the 22 episodes you would get if it were still on NBC.

Alongside Meloni, the drama stars Danielle Moné Truitt as Sergeant Ayanna Bell, Ainsley Seiger as Junior Detective Jet Slootmaekers and Rick Gonzalez as Detective 2nd Grade Bobby Reyes.

In some good news behind the cameras, showrunner John Shiban is set to return to helm Season 5, which is the first time a showrunner on ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ has stuck around for more than one season. The drama is created by Dick Wolf, who executive produces alongside Ilene Chaiken, Terry Miller, Fred Berner, Arthur W. Forney and Peter Jankowski. The series is produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Law & Order: Organized Crime‘ airs (and will continue to air) on Sky Witness in the UK. It will now move to Peacock from NBC from Season 5 in the USA. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.
