Netflix has set a December premiere date for the 6th Season of the much-loved cosy drama ‘Virgin River‘ starring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson.
The series follows Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner who moves from LA to a remote northern California town, searching for a fresh start, but is surprised by what — and who — she finds.
Against the backdrop of Mel and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) romantic spring wedding season, this sixth instalment promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s.
Those flashbacks see Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day) and Callum Kerr (One Piece) join the cast as a young Sarah and Everett, Mel’s parents. Set around 1972, Sarah is depicted as a witty, free-spirited woman from the big city with a strong passion for activism, determined to break away from the conventional life expected of her. Adventurous by nature, she finds herself drawn to a charming musician, igniting a spark with someone who could be her star-crossed soulmate.
This young version of Everett is a charismatic, free-spirited singer-songwriter with the heart of a poet. Though he dreams of one day making it on stage, for now, he’s drifting through life in his VW van. A chance encounter with a captivating hitchhiker, however, might reveal to him that there’s much more to life than he ever imagined.
Alongside Breckenridge and Henderson, the drama stars Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, Kandyse McClure, and Mark Ghanime.
The executive producers for the series are showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, along with Sue Tenney, Amy Palmer Robertson, Roma Roth, Christopher E. Perry, Robyn Carr, Erin Cardillo, and Richard Keith. This season’s writers include Patrick Sean Smith, Jackson Sinder, Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith, Ildiko Susany, Thomas Ian Griffith, Mary Page Keller, Tesia Walker, and Becky Hartman Edwards, with directors Martin Wood, Rama Rau, Felipe Rodriguez, and Monika Mitchell. Star Martin Henderson also steps up behind the camera this season to direct an episode for the first time.
‘Virgin River‘ Season 6 premieres Thursday, 19th December 2024 on Netflix UK and worldwide with all 10 episodes.
