Disney+ UK festivities are in full swing, and the streaming service already has lots of Christmas content for you, and now brings you the final season of ‘What We Do in the Shadows’, Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’ spin-off ‘Dream Productions’, musical docs from Elton John and Jung Kook, new Star Wars series ‘Skeleton Crew’, the finale of Marvel’s ‘What If..?’ and so much more! Here is what’s coming to Disney+ UK in December 2024.

STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW – 4th December 2024 (Series)

“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined. The series stars Jude Law, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon and Nick Frost.

JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL – THE ORIGINAL – 3rd December 2024 (Docuseries)

Jung Kook invites viewers on a journey showcasing his rise to stardom, creative process, work ethic, and challenges as a global icon, with unseen footage, interviews, and electrifying performances.

MICKEY AND MINNIE’S CHRISTMAS CAROLS – 4th December 2024 (Shorts Series)

Stop-motion Christmas shorts featuring Mickey & pals. Featuring the voices of Bret Iwan, Kaitlyn Robrock, Bill Farmer, Tress MacNeille, Tony Anselmo, and Misty Lee.

LIGHT SHOP – 4th December 2024 (Series)

An adaptation of Kangfull’s hit webtoon of the same name, “Light Shop” follows six strangers, each grappling with a traumatic event from their past. As they go about their daily lives, they slowly come to realize that something is very wrong they just can’t figure out what. Desperate for answers and searching for a way back to normalcy, the strangers are drawn to a mysterious light shop at the end of a foreboding alleyway, which holds the key to their past, present and future. Full of mystery and intrigue, “Light Shop” promises to take viewers on an emotional adventure through its unique and heart-wrenching premise.

MICKEY AND THE VERY MANY CHRISTMASES – 6th December 2024 (Animated Special)

Mickey makes a magical wish that every day could be Christmas, but winds up having second thoughts when his wish actually comes true. Featuring the voices of Bret Iwan, Kaitlyn Robrock, Bill Farmer, Tress MacNeille, and Tony Anselmo.

SUGARCANE – 10th December 2024 (Documentary)

When unmarked graves are found on the grounds of an Indian residential school run by the Catholic Church in Canada, it sparks a national outcry. After years of silence, the abuse many children experienced in a system designed to destroy Indigenous communities comes to light. Now the community’s resilience is tested as it breaks the cycle of trauma and finds the strength to persevere.

DREAM PRODUCTIONS – 11th December 2024 (Series Boxset)

From the world of “Inside Out” comes “Dream Productions,” an all-new Disney+ series about the studio inside Riley’s mind where dreams really do come true—every night, on time and on budget, thanks to acclaimed director Paula Persimmon (voice of Paula Pell). Riley’s growing up and her core Emotions are on the job helping her navigate, but now Paula is facing a nightmare of her own: her signature combination of dreams featuring Rainbow Unicorn and copious amounts of glitter just isn’t working anymore. To try and save her career, Paula teams up with Xeni (voice of Richard Ayoade), an overly confident daydream director looking for his next big break. With differing visions on what makes Riley’s dreams successful, can the reluctant pair come together to create the next big tween-dream hit? Written and directed by Mike Jones and produced by Jaclyn Simon.

VOW OF SILENCE: THE ASSASSINATION OF ANNIE MAE – 11th December 2024 (Docuseries)

This true crime docuseries examines the murder of Annie Mae Aquash – a Mi’kmaq woman from Nova Scotia, Canada, a mother of two daughters, a teacher, and a revolutionary who fought for Indigenous rights in the 1970s and whose death went unsolved for almost 30 years. Set between the sweeping landscape of American politics in the volatile 70s and the present-day investigation by Annie Mae’s daughter to uncover secrets from the past, this is a fascinating story of murder, intrigue, love, and betrayal that contextualizes Annie Mae’s story within the larger story of the struggle of Native and First Nations women in their own communities that continues even today.

ELTON JOHN: NEVER TOO LATE – 13th December 2024 (Film)

Directed by R.J. Cutler and David Furnish, the documentary follows Elton John as he looks back on his life and the astonishing early days of his 50-year career in this emotionally charged, intimate and uplifting full-circle journey. As he prepares for his final concert in North America at Dodger Stadium, Elton takes us back in time and recounts the extraordinary highs and heartbreaking lows of his early years and how he overcame adversity, abuse and addiction to become the icon he is today.

INVISIBLE – 13th December 2024 (Spanish Series)

Based on the novel by Eloy Moreno, twelve-year-old Capi has suffered a terrible accident that has left him with severe post-traumatic stress disorder. Neither the school, nor his friends, nor his family can explain what has happened. However, the psychologist who treats him is determined to delve into his story and discover the reasons that led him to this situation. Little by little, Capi begins to trust him and tells him that he has the power of invisibility, and that the terrible nightmares that haunt him every night are linked to the monsters and the dragon that haunt him.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, Season 6 – 17th December 2024 (Series Boxset)

What We Do in the Shadows, based on the feature film by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, documents the nightly exploits of vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) as they navigate the modern world of Staten Island with the help of their human familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén), and their vampire bureaucrat acquaintance, The Guide (Kristen Schaal).

BLINK – 17th December 2024 (Documentary)

WHAT IF…? Season 3 – 22nd December 2024 (Daily Series)

Marvel’s animated series “What If…?” returns in Season 3 for its culminating adventure through the multiverse. Watch as classic characters make unexpected choices that will mutate their worlds into spectacular alternate versions of the MCU. The Watcher (voice of Jeffrey Wright) will guide viewers as the series traverses new genres, bigger spectacles, and incredible new characters. The series features an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles. Season 3 features fan-favorite characters like Captain America/Sam Wilson, The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes, Hulk/Bruce Banner, The Red Guardian, Captain Peggy Carter, Agatha Harkness, Shang-Chi, Storm the Goddess of Thunder, and numerous others. Episodes are directed by Bryan Andrews and Stephan Franck and are written by Matthew Chauncey, Ryan Little, and A.C. Bradley.
