As we hurtle toward the end of 2024, MCM Comic Con held two excellent events in recent months. In October we had MCM Comic Con London, which this year also incorporated gaming festival EGX, and in November, MCM Comic Con Birmingham. Both were excellent, and packed full of guests, games, and other geeky goodness!
I’m a little late posting my MCM London coverage this year, due to having an issue with the sound on some of the videos, which has been a bit of a nightmare to fix. However, that has now been sorted, and we can bring you a host of videos from panels and exclusive press interviews from both MCM London in October, and MCM Birmingham in November.
If you have never been to an MCM Comic-Con before, London takes over ExCeL Exhibition Centre in the capital’s docklands, whilst Birmingham is set across multiple halls at the NEC. Both festivals are a haven of geekdom, with hundreds of stalls offering a wide range of geeky merch, comic books and games, plus amazing cosplay, and guests from across TV, films and gaming who offer photo opportunities, autographs, and free talk panels.
What truly distinguishes MCM Comic-Con is not just its impressive lineup of celebrities but the heart of the event itself. Fans are drawn by the chance to connect with others who share their love for cosplay, anime, TV, film, indie comics, and gaming. MCM has established a unique reputation for creating a welcoming and inclusive space where attendees can openly celebrate their passions. Few communities are as accepting, diverse, and inclusive as the one fostered by MCM Comic-Con.
To give you some idea of the size and scope of MCM Comic-Con, we have a couple of walkthrough videos from our friends over at Comic-Con News, which gives you a taste of the shows.

The Guests
The guests for both London and Birmingham were extremely impressive for these last two Cons of the year. London featured prolific actress Ella Purnell (Fallout, Yellowjackets, Arcane, Sweetpea), panels with the cast of Prime Video series ‘The Rig‘, and the upcoming Netflix movie ‘The Electric State’ from the Russo Brothers, plus the voice cast of ‘Futurama‘, and ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’.
At Birmingham we had the voice cast of the video games ‘God Of War’, ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ and ‘The Witcher’, actor and singer Luke Evans (‘The Hobbit’, ‘Fast & Furious’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’), ‘Star Trek: Discovery’s Oded Fehr, and many more! Here are the videos, featuring both clips from the stage panels and exclusive press interviews.
MCM Comic-Con Birmingham Guests – November 2024
Doug Cockle, AKA The Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia, Interview
First up we have Doug Cockle, aka the voice of “Geralt of Rivia” in ‘The Witcher’ video games. We’ve interviewed Doug a few times before, and he’s always delightful! In this exclusive press interview he chats about his work on the games and the Netflix animation, meeting Henry Cavill and geeking out with him over The Witcher with him, his thoughts on The Witcher 4, and lots more!
God Of War Cast Interview
Next we have the ‘God Of War’ exclusive press interview featuring Christopher Judge (Kratos), Sunny Suljic (Atreus), Danielle Bisutti (Freya), and Alastair Duncan (Mimir). They discussed finding their characters, working together, dealing with COVID-19, and how they really are like a family, amongst many other things. Side note – sorry if you think the colour is a bit off in the video… There was an issue with the colour settings on the camera which was tricky to balance out!
In addition to the press interview, the cast also did a stage panel, and we have two clips of that below!

Baldur’s Gate 3 Cast Interview
Next, we have the cast of gaming juggernaut ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’, featuring Emma Gregory (Minthara), Andrew Wincott (Raphael), Dave Jones (Halsin ), and Samantha Béart (Karlach ), and Neil Roberts ( The Dark Urge) who arrived late… which is very Dark Urge of him… They talk about playing their roles, the amazing response it’s had, meeting fans, cosplays and lots more!
In addition to the press interview, the cast also did a rather chaotic stage panel, hosted by CJ Allan, where they discuss their roles and the amazing effect the game has had on themselves and their fans… oh… and The Dark Urge eats a heart on stage!

MCM Comic-Con London Guests – October 2024
Ella Purnell Panel Clips From MCM Comic-Con London
Moving back to London, we kick off with the delightful Ella Purnell, who has been really busy over the past few years!
In the first Ella Purnell panel video she discusses working on latest project, the Sky dark comedic-thriller ‘Sweetpea‘, which was recently renewed for a 2nd season. The “coming-of-rage” series tells the story of Rhiannon, a timid young woman, continually overlooked by work, society, family and the world in general, who goes from wallflower to serial killer… It’s “Dexter-meets-Fleabag”…
In the second panel clip, Ella Purnell talks about working on Prime Video’s ‘Fallout‘ series, also renewed for Season 2, where she plays the “happy go lucky” Lucy, a vault dweller who is thrust into the post-apocalyptic world. She talks about what she hopes happens next, working with “the Ghoul”, and how she found that interrogation scene actually quite relaxing!
In the last Ella Purnell panel video she talks about voicing the role of the “morally complex” Jinx in Netflix’s hit animated series ‘Arcane‘, set in Riot’s League of Legends universe, her thoughts on the character, and how she will miss playing her.
Futurama Cast Panel Clips From MCM Comic-Con London
In the first of three videos from the ‘Futurama‘ panel, voice actors Billy West (Fry, the Professor, Zoidberg and more!), and Maurice LaMarche (voice of Kif, and many supporting characters), talk about getting cancelled, revived (and cancelled, and revived…) along with recording the revival series in the pandemic.
In the next ‘Futurama‘ panel video, Billy West and Maurice LaMarche, talk about auditioning for the roles, and how they found the voices for Fry, Kif, and a number of other characters. They also discuss recording scenes where they’re doing multiple characters and having to have a conversation with themselves!
In the last ‘Futurama‘ panel video, Billy West and Maurice LaMarche discuss how ridiculously over-qualified the writers of the show are! As an added bonus, they also do a host of voices and praise the other cast members.
The Rig Cast Panel Clips From MCM Comic-Con London
The cast of Prime Video’s ‘The Rig‘, which returns for Season 2 on Thursday, 2nd January 2025, discuss the popularity of the drama, and what to expect from the second season. The Panel included Iain Glen (Magnus), Martin Compston (Fulmer), and Rochenda Sandall (Cat), along with Alice Krige (aka Star Trek’s Borg Queen herself!) who plays the CEO of the mining company. They are joined by writer/creator David Macpherson and director John Strickland.
Netflix’s Electric State Panel Clips With Russo Bros & Stanley Tucci From MCM Comic-Con London
The clips from this panel introduces us to the upcoming film ‘The Electric State’, from Anthony and Joe Russo, which premieres 14th March 2025 on Netflix. Set in an alternate 1994, robots gained sentience and went to war with humans… and lost… Now, a young girl (Millie Bobby Brown) is approached by a robot who claims to know her missing brother, and with it, she sets out to find him. The film also stars Chris Pratt, Stanley Tucci, and Ke Huy Quan.
The panel included Anthony and Joe Russo, with Stanley Tucci, who was meant to be on stage, but was stuck in traffic (he did eventually make it, just as the panel came to an end!)
‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Interview From MCM Comic-Con London
The last video we have features Jennie Kwan and James Sie, voice actors in the beloved animated series ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’. Kwan voices “Suki” leader of the Kyoshi Warriors, and Sie plays the “Cabbage Merchant”, both in the animated series, and in Netflix’s live-action version!
