Apple TV+ Drops Sneak Peek at ‘The Last Frontier’, a Gripping New Thriller Coming This October

by Dave Elliott

Apple TV+ has revealed a first look at its upcoming drama series The Last Frontier, an action-packed thriller from co-creators Jon Bokenkamp (The Blacklist) and Richard D’Ovidio (The Call), with Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) leading the cast and also serving as executive producer.

Set against the unforgiving wilderness of Alaska, the 10-episode series follows Frank Remnick (Clarke), the lone U.S. marshal tasked with keeping order in one of the most remote regions of America. His quiet jurisdiction is shattered when a prison transport plane crashes in the wild, releasing dozens of dangerous inmates. As Remnick fights to protect the local community, he uncovers evidence that the crash may not have been an accident at all, but rather the start of a meticulously planned operation with far-reaching consequences.

Joining Clarke in the cast are Dominic Cooper (The Gold), Haley Bennett (The Magnificent Seven), Simone Kessell (Yellowjackets), Dallas Goldtooth (Reservation Dogs), and Tait Blum (For All Mankind), with Academy Award nominee and multi-Emmy Award winner Alfre Woodard (Clemency).

Behind the scenes, Bokenkamp and D’Ovidio also serve as writers and executive producers alongside Clarke, Laura Benson (The Big C), Glenn Kessler (Bloodline), Albert Kim (Nikita), and episodic director Sam Hargrave (Extraction). The series hails from Apple Studios.

The Last Frontier’ premieres globally on Apple TV+ with its first two episodes on Friday, 10th October 2025, followed by weekly episodes through 5th December 2025.
