‘Upload’ fans got a thrilling surprise at San Diego Comic-Con as Prime Video unveiled the first-look clip (now released online) for the highly anticipated fourth and final season of the hit sci-fi comedy. The reveal came during a packed panel featuring series creator Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) alongside stars Robbie Amell (The Flash), Andy Allo (Pitch Perfect 3), Kevin Bigley (Sirens), and Allegra Edwards (Briarpatch), moderated by Brian Baumgartner (The Office).
The clip teases explosive stakes for Nathan, Nora, and the rest of the Lakeview crew. In it, Zainab Johnson’s Aleesha is seen training with a man named “Mr. Chu,” offering an intriguing hint at what’s to come in the final chapter. The panel also gave fans behind-the-scenes stories, cast memories, and reflections on wrapping up the series.
Where We Left Off
The Season 3 finale, which aired in November 2023, ended with a courtroom win for the families of the Freeyond victims. However, the incriminating information Aleesha retrieved from Karina’s computer about Horizen was locked away as part of the settlement, and both Nathans remained under the company’s control.
What to Expect from the Final Season
Created by Emmy-winning writer Greg Daniels, ‘Upload’ takes place in a near-future world where death is no longer the end. Instead, consciousness can be “uploaded” into a digital afterlife that feels like a luxury resort. But paradise has its dark side.
In the four-part finale, a sentient AI has turned malevolent, threatening not only Lakeview but the entire planet. On top of corporate greed, unresolved mysteries, and heartache both virtual and real, Nathan, Nora, and their friends face their greatest challenge yet. The only way forward? Team up one last time to stop humanity from being permanently deleted.
The series also stars Zainab Johnson (100 Humans) as Aleesha and Owen Daniels (Space Force) as A.I. Guy, with executive producers Howard Klein and Maxwell Vivian joining Daniels behind the scenes.
