Netflix is already saddling up for more drama on the ranch, as ‘My Life With The Walter Boys’ has been renewed for a third season – and production is already underway before Season 2 has even hit our screens!
The hit teen drama, based on Ali Novak’s popular Wattpad novel, became a huge success when it debuted, spending eight weeks in Netflix’s Global English Top 10 and reaching the Top 10 in 88 countries. Season 1 introduced us to Jackie Howard, played by Nikki Rodriguez (On My Block), a 15-year-old Manhattan teen whose life is turned upside down when she moves to rural Silver Falls, Colorado, to live with her mother’s best friend Katherine (Sarah Rafferty – Suits) and her husband George (Marc Blucas – Buffy the Vampire Slayer), who are raising 10 kids of their own. Jackie also found herself navigating complicated feelings for the Walter brothers: the studious Alex (Ashby Gentry) and the mysterious Cole (*Noah LaLonde).
Season 2 picks up after Jackie’s whirlwind summer in New York City, following her departure from Silver Falls in the wake of Alex’s love confession and a kiss with Cole. But when Katherine persuades Jackie to return to Colorado, she finds her return home anything but simple. With Alex preoccupied by the rodeo and his growing popularity, and Cole struggling to fill the void left by football, tensions mount once again. Jackie must navigate fractured relationships, small-town expectations, and the ongoing pull between the person she was and who she’s becoming – all while trying to find her place with the Walter family.
Showrunner and executive producer Melanie Halsall, who returns alongside Ed Glauser and Becky Hartman Edwards, has teased that she’s keen to take the story further in Season 3, exploring not only the teenage drama but also more intergenerational storylines.
The cast for Season 2 includes Sarah Rafferty (Suits), Marc Blucas (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Connor Stanhope (Smallville), Johnny Link (Dear Evan Hansen), Corey Fogelmanis (Girl Meets World), Jaylan Evans (All American), Zoë Soul (The Purge), Isaac Arellanes (Ghostwriter), Myles Perez (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), and many more.
The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and iGeneration Studios, the company behind The Kissing Booth trilogy.
