The Continent burns once more as Netflix releases the full trailer for ‘The Witcher’ Season 4, marking a new era for the fantasy epic and the arrival of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. The trailer is packed with war-torn landscapes, monstrous threats, and a darker, more desperate tone as the world of men, mages, and monsters teeters on the edge of destruction.
Following the explosive end of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri are now scattered across a divided Continent where kingdoms collapse, alliances crumble, and magic itself threatens to spiral out of control. With Ciri on the run and powerful forces hunting her for her Elder Blood, Geralt is forced to form new, uneasy alliances. The trailer shows him journeying with a band of unlikely companions who seem more accident-prone than battle-ready… which, knowing Geralt’s luck, will only make things more interesting.
Meanwhile, Anya Chalotra returns as Yennefer of Vengerberg, navigating the political fallout of war while struggling with the immense power she once unleashed. Freya Allan’s Ciri continues her transformation from fugitive princess to formidable warrior, while Joey Batey’s Jaskier looks set to keep spirits (and songs) alive amid the chaos.
One of the most exciting additions this season is Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, John Wick) as Regis, the world-weary barber-surgeon with a mysterious past. A fan-favourite from both Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels and the CD Projekt Red games, Regis joins Geralt’s makeshift fellowship as they navigate battlefields, monsters, and moral dilemmas.
The sprawling cast also features Cahir (Eamon Farren), Triss Merigold (Anna Shaffer), Philippa (Cassie Clare), Fringilla (Mimî M Khayisa), Dijkstra (Graham McTavish), Milva (Meng’er Zhang), and Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu), along with newcomers Sharlto Copley as the ruthless bounty hunter Leo Bonhart and Danny Woodburn as the dwarven warrior Zoltan.
Behind the camera, returning showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich leads a creative team that includes writers Tania Lotia, Troy Dangerfield, and Javier Grillo-Marxuach. Direction duties are split between Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (Battlestar Galactica), Tricia Brock (The Walking Dead), and Alex Garcia Lopez (The Punisher), promising a season rich in world-building and character-driven storytelling.
Season 4 is expected to push the boundaries of The Witcher’s world further than ever, blending the political intrigue of Game of Thrones with the visceral, monster-hunting grit that made the show a global hit. Judging by the trailer’s blend of sweeping battlefields, eerie ruins, and emotional reunions, this chapter looks to be both brutal and heartfelt… A baptism of fire for the new Geralt and his fractured family.
‘The Witcher’ Season 4 premieres Wednesday, 30th October 2025 on Netflix, with all eight episodes dropping on launch day.
