Paramount+ has released the official trailer for ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ season four, teasing another explosive round of power plays, betrayals, and moral compromise in Taylor Sheridan’s gritty small-town crime saga. The new season arrives globally this October, with Jeremy Renner reprising his role as power broker Mike McLusky and Edie Falco (The Sopranos, Nurse Jackie) joining the cast as a formidable new force in Kingstown’s tense political ecosystem.
Co-created by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, 1883) and Hugh Dillon, the series examines the brutal intersections of politics, incarceration, and survival in a town where the prison system is the only thriving business. Across its first three seasons, ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ has built a reputation for being one of Sheridan’s darker creations. It’s less about ranches and family dynasties, and more about corruption, violence, and the blurred morality of power.
Season four picks up with Mike’s grip on Kingstown under threat. The Russians are gone, but the power vacuum they leave behind has triggered a bloody turf war among rival gangs desperate to claim control. As chaos spreads, Mike is forced to make impossible choices to protect those closest to him, while clashing with a new warden whose iron will threatens to upend his uneasy alliances. The trailer promises high-stakes confrontations, brooding reflection, and Renner back in fierce, battle-scarred form following his long recovery after his 2023 accident.
Alongside Renner and Falco, the ensemble cast includes Lennie James (The Walking Dead), Laura Benanti (Supergirl), Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Nishi Munshi. The new episodes continue to explore the balance of power between law enforcement, organised crime, and the prison system, with the same bleak realism and emotional punch that have made the show a standout in Sheridan’s growing universe.
‘Mayor of Kingstown’ is executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Christoph Schrewe, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, and Keith Cox. Erickson also serves as showrunner, guiding the series through its most volatile chapter yet.
The show is part of Sheridan’s expanding slate at Paramount+, which includes Landman, 1923, Lioness, Tulsa King, 1883, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and the upcoming Nola King, starring Samuel L. Jackson.
