Apple TV drops a first look at bold new family dramedy ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ starring Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman

Apple TV has unveiled a first look at its upcoming A24 comedy drama Margo’s Got Money Troubles‘, a vibrant and heartfelt adaptation of Rufi Thorpe’s bestselling novel that arrives globally in April. With a cast that includes Elle Fanning (The Great), Michelle Pfeiffer (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Nicole Kidman (Nine Perfect Strangers), Nick Offerman (The Last of Us) and Thaddea Graham (Doctor Who), this is a series that arrives already dripping with pedigree.

Based on Thorpe’s acclaimed book and brought to life by multi-Emmy Award winner David E. Kelley, ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ follows recent college dropout and aspiring writer Margo, played by Fanning, as life hands her the kind of plot twist even a novelist would wince at. She is raising a newborn, juggling mounting bills and navigating the kind of wonderfully unglamorous adulthood her parents never quite prepared her for. Those parents, by the way, are an ex-Hooters waitress played by Pfeiffer and a former pro wrestler played by Offerman, which tells you everything you need to know about the chaotic DNA of the series.

The cast expands even further with Marcia Gay Harden (The Morning Show), Greg Kinnear (House of Cards), Michael Angarano (Oppenheimer), Rico Nasty (Heaux Tales) and Lindsey Normington. It is a lineup that screams prestige with a wink, which is exactly the tone A24 and Kelley tend to excel at.

Behind the camera, Kelley serves as showrunner and writer, with executive producers including both Fanning sisters, Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, and Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions. The pilot comes from BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Dearbhla Walsh, with additional episodes directed by Kate Herron and Alice Seabright.

‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ also marks the latest collaboration between Kelley and Apple TV, following the hit courtroom thriller ‘Presumed Innocent’, which recently entered production on its second season.

Apple TV continues to expand its slate with glossy dramas, sharp comedies and award-winning originals. With A24 involved and a cast stacked with talent, this one looks primed to be a standout of the 2026 lineup.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles‘ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 15th April 2026 on Apple TV.
