by Dave Elliott

The Last Thing He Told Me is back this February, and Apple TV has unveiled the trailer for season two of the hit drama, teasing a tense new chapter that pulls its fractured family back into danger.

The eight-episode second season is based on The First Time I Saw Him, the sequel novel by Laura Dave, and sees Jennifer Garner returning as Hannah Hall, once again starring and executive producing. This time, the story picks up five years after Owen vanished, with his sudden reappearance threatening the fragile life Hannah and her stepdaughter Bailey have built.

Alongside Jennifer Garner (Alias), the new season brings back Angourie Rice (Mare of Easttown), David Morse (The Green Mile) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones), while adding Judy Greer (Halloween) and Rita Wilson (Sleepless in Seattle) to the cast. Additional roles are filled by Augusto Aguilera, Josh Hamilton, Nick Hargrove, Michael Galante, John Noble, Michael Hyatt, Luke Kirby and Elizabeth O’Donnell.

Season two is executive produced by co-showrunners Josh Singer (Spotlight) and Aaron Zelman (Damages), alongside Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine. The series is produced by 20th Television and Hello Sunshine, part of Candle Media, continuing Apple TV’s long-running partnership with the company behind ‘The Morning Show’ and ‘Surface’.

Fans who need a refresher can catch up on the first season now streaming on Apple TV, before the mystery tightens and old secrets start snapping shut.

The Last Thing He Told Me’ Season 2 premieres Friday, 20th February 2026 on Apple TV.
