‘The Pitt’ Finally Gets UK Launch On HBO Max This March After Emmy-Winning US Run

by Dave Elliott

The Pitt is officially heading to the UK, with the acclaimed medical drama landing on HBO Max this March, giving UK audiences the chance to catch up with one of the most talked-about US dramas of the past year.

Created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, the series stars Noah Wyle (ER, The Librarian, Falling Skies) in a return to frontline medical drama that has drawn huge praise for its intensity, realism and emotional weight.

Set inside a modern trauma hospital in Pittsburgh, ‘The Pitt’ offers a grounded, often relentless look at healthcare under pressure. Each episode unfolds in near real time, following a single hour of Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch’s 15-hour shift as chief attendant in the emergency room, as staff deal with life-or-death decisions, burnout, bureaucracy and the human cost of modern medicine.

Alongside Wyle, the ensemble cast includes Tracey Ifeachor (The Originals) as Dr. Collins, Patrick Ball (Station 19) as Dr. Langdon, Supriya Ganesh (Chicago Med) as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif (Chucky) as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden (Sweet/Vicious) as Dr. King, Isa Briones (Star Trek: Picard) as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell (Catch-22) as Whitaker, Shabana Azeez (The Hunting) as Javadi, and Katherine LaNasa (Truth Be Told) as Dana Evans.

Behind the camera, ‘The Pitt’ brings together a heavyweight creative team. Gemmill serves as creator and executive producer alongside Noah Wyle, Emmy winner John Wells (The West Wing, ER, Shameless), Erin Jontow (Maid), Simran Baidwan (Manifest, Ordinary Joe), and Michael Hissrich (Third Watch).

The series’ impact has already been reflected in awards success. At the 77th Emmy Awards, ‘The Pitt’ picked up five wins, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor for Noah Wyle, Outstanding Supporting Actress for Katherine LaNasa, Outstanding Guest Actor for Shawn Hatosy, and Outstanding Casting. The wins marked first Emmy victories for several members of the cast.

The success has also translated into longevity. The drama has already been renewed for a third season in the US, with the announcement made ahead of the second season debut earlier this year, underlining just how strongly the series has connected with audiences and critics alike.

For UK viewers, the entire first season arrives on HBO Max in March. While the UK launch announcement does not officially confirm whether any season two episodes will also be available at launch, the US second season began airing in January and continues through April 2026, so UK viewers may find additional episodes available when the show lands.

The Pitt’ Season 1 lands on HBO Max in the UK and Ireland on Thursday, 26th March 2026. If I want to keep track of this or any other shows, I can add them via our Never Miss system, and I’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.

Glad The Pitt will finally be available in the UK. Season One was amazing and Season Two is already building towards being another fantastic season. It’s been frustrating having to find other means in order to watch it, so I’ll be happy to use an official platform when it launches.
