Apple TV has released the first teaser trailer for ‘Star City’, offering another look at the upcoming companion series to ‘For All Mankind’ ahead of its arrival this May.
Set in the same alt-history universe as ‘For All Mankind’, ‘Star City’ flips the perspective and heads behind the Iron Curtain, exploring the Soviet side of the space race at the moment the USSR became the first nation to put a man on the moon. While the earlier first-look announcement set out the broad premise, this teaser leans into the tension, secrecy and pressure of life inside the Soviet space programme, teasing a colder, more paranoid edge to the story.
The new drama is described as a propulsive paranoid thriller, following the cosmonauts, engineers and intelligence officers working within the Soviet programme, and the risks they take in pursuit of technological and political supremacy. Given how good ‘For All Mankind’ has been at blending character drama with big alt-history swings, it will be fascinating to see the same universe from the other side of the space-race divide.
The cast includes Rhys Ifans (House of the Dragon), Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland), Agnes O’Casey (Black Doves), Alice Englert (Bad Behaviour), Solly McLeod (House of the Dragon), Adam Nagaitis (Chernobyl), Ruby Ashbourne Serkis (I, Jack Wright), Josef Davies (Andor), and Priya Kansara (Bridgerton).
‘Star City’ is created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi, with Wolpert and Nedivi serving as showrunners. They also executive produce alongside Moore, Maril Davis, Andrew Chambliss and Steve Oster. The series is produced for Apple TV by Sony Pictures Television.
With ‘For All Mankind’ returning for season five this week, ‘Star City’ is set to arrive on the same day as that season finale, expanding the franchise just as the main series heads toward its already ordered sixth and final season.
‘For All Mankind’ Season 5 premieres Friday, 27th March 2026 on Apple TV.
‘Star City’ premieres Friday, 29th May 2026 on Apple TV, with two episodes dropping on launch day, followed by one new episode every Friday through to Friday, 10th July 2026.
