Final Service! ‘The Bear’ Sets June UK Premiere For Fifth & Final Season On Disney+ UK

FX’s Emmy Award-winning culinary chaos machine ‘The Bear’ is heading back into the kitchen one last time, as Disney+ confirms the fifth and final season will premiere this June in the UK.

All eight episodes of the final season will be available to stream at launch, exclusively on Disney+. Key art for the new season has also been released, setting the table for one final, stressful, beautifully shot, probably emotionally devastating service.

The news follows the surprise release of ‘Gary’, a special flashback episode co-written by and starring Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Andor) and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead). The episode follows Richie and Mikey on a work trip to Gary, Indiana, and is now streaming separately on Disney+, where fans can find it by searching for “Gary”.

Season 5 picks up the morning after Sydney, Richie and Natalie “Sugar” discover that Carmy has quit the food industry, leaving the restaurant in their hands. With money running out, a potential sale looming, and a torrential storm adding to the general sense of “well, this seems bad”, the new partners have to pull the team together for one last service, hoping they might finally earn a Michelin star.

The final season sees Jeremy Allen White (Shameless) return as Carmy, alongside Ayo Edebiri (Bottoms) as Sydney, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Andor) as Richie, Abby Elliott (Saturday Night Live) as Natalie “Sugar”, Lionel Boyce (Hap and Leonard) as Marcus, Liza Colón-Zayas (In Treatment) as Tina, and Matty Matheson as Neil Fak.

Recurring cast includes Ricky Staffieri, Oliver Platt (The West Wing), Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) and Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

Created by Christopher Storer, ‘The Bear’ has become one of FX’s biggest critical hits, blending kitchen pressure, family trauma, ambition, grief, perfectionism and some truly heroic sandwich work. The final season looks set to bring all of that to a boil as the restaurant team are forced to figure out what “perfect” really means, and whether it is about the food, the star, or the people standing beside you when everything is on fire.
