Reacher Renewed For Season 5 At Prime Video Ahead Of Season 4 Premiere

by Dave Elliott

Prime Video has given Reacher an early Season 5 renewal, confirming that Alan Ritchson’s hulking former military investigator will be punching, deducting, and headbutting his way through at least another round of trouble.

The renewal comes ahead of the fourth season premiere, with Prime Video clearly keen to keep one of its biggest action franchises rolling. Season 3 reached 54.6 million viewers globally in its first 19 days, making it the most-watched season on the service since Fallout Season 1 over the same period.

Based on Lee Child’s bestselling novels, ‘Reacher’ stars Alan Ritchson (Titans) as Jack Reacher, the wandering ex-military policeman with a sharp mind, a strict moral code, and a very direct approach to conflict resolution. Previous seasons are available now on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Season 4 will be based on Gone Tomorrow, the 13th book in Child’s Jack Reacher series. The new run begins when a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a subway goes horribly wrong, pulling Reacher into a complex and deadly game involving ruthless enemies from the highest echelons of power. So, very much another quiet week for Jack, then.

Alongside Ritchson, the fourth season adds Chris Marquette (Barry), Sydelle Noel (GLOW), AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman (Alias), Marc Blucas (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Kevin Corrigan (The Get Down) and Kathleen Robertson (Beverly Hills, 90210) to the cast.

“From Lee Child’s globally beloved novels to its standout on-screen adaptation, Reacher has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise,” said Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios. “The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world. We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season Four’s debut and to build on this incredible momentum. We’re grateful to our outstanding creative partners, cast, and crew—Nick, Alan, Lee, Skydance, and CBS Studios—for continuing to bring this world to life in such a bold and compelling way.”

‘Reacher’ is written for television by Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora (FUBAR, Prison Break), who also executive produces and serves as showrunner. Lee Child, Alan Ritchson, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, Lisa Kussner, Sam Hill, Amy Pocha and Seth Cohen also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios.

Reacher Season 4 does not yet have a premiere date but will air on Prime Video. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
