Prime Video has announced that ‘Fallout‘ is adding Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Westworld) to the cast for Season 3, reuniting the actor with executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy following their work together on Westworld.
The news was revealed ahead of Amazon’s annual Upfront presentation, with Prime Video also confirming that Annabel O’Hagan and Dave Register have been upped to series regulars for Season 3. Frances Turner (The Boys), who was promoted to series regular in Season 2, will also remain a regular going into the next run.
Based on Bethesda’s hugely popular video game franchise, ‘Fallout’ is set 200 years after the apocalypse, in a world where the comfortable residents of luxury underground vaults are forced to return to the irradiated wasteland above. What they find is a gleefully bizarre, violent, darkly funny universe full of mutants, power armour, vault experiments, questionable morality, and the general sense that humanity probably should not be trusted with anything more complicated than a tin opener.
The series stars Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Sweetpea), Aaron Moten (Emancipation, Father Stu), Walton Goggins (The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Moisés Arias (The King of Staten Island), and Frances Turner (The Boys).
The show has become one of Prime Video’s biggest global hits, with the streamer saying Seasons 1 and 2 have surpassed 100 million viewers worldwide through the first 13 weeks of Season 2. Both seasons also rank among Prime Video’s top four most-watched seasons of all time during the same period, which is not bad for a series that involves irradiated monsters, corporate dystopia, and a cowboy ghoul with cheekbones that could survive nuclear winter.
‘Fallout’ comes from Kilter Films, with Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy and Athena Wickham executive producing. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as executive producers, creators and showrunners. Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard also executive produces, alongside James Altman for Bethesda Softworks and Margot Lulick.
Season 3 is set to begin filming this summer. No premiere date has been announced yet.
‘Fallout’ Seasons 1 and 2 are available now on Prime Video.
‘Fallout‘ Season 3 does not yet have a premiere date but will air on Prime Video in the UK. If I want to keep track of this or any other shows, I can add them via our Never Miss system, and I’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
