by Dave Elliott

Paramount+ has released the official trailer and first-look images for The Agency Season 2, with the acclaimed spy thriller returning this June for another ten-episode run.

Based on the hit French drama Le Bureau des Légendes, known internationally as The Bureau, the series stars Michael Fassbender (X-Men, Steve Jobs) as Martian, a CIA agent living undercover in his own life. Following the events of Season 1, Martian is walking an increasingly dangerous line as he tries to save Samia, played by Jodie Turner-Smith (Anne Boleyn, The Acolyte), who is now a political prisoner in Sudan.

The new season finds Martian prepared to go further than ever to rescue her, even if that means pushing past the point of treachery. As the official synopsis puts it, the only way out is deeper in, which is rarely a comforting sentence when spies, secrets and international consequences are involved…

Alongside Michael Fassbender, the series stars Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, The Batman), Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts, Slow Horses), Harriet Sansom Harris (Frasier, Hacks), John Magaro (Past Lives, Orange Is the New Black), Saura Lightfoot-Leon (Masters of the Air), India Fowler (The Nevers), Andrew Brooke (The Capture), Christian Ochoa Lavernia (The Good Doctor), Reza Brojerdi (The Queen’s Gambit), Ambreen Razia (This Way Up), Alex Reznik (The Americans) and Richard Gere (Chicago, Pretty Woman).

Season 2 will also feature guest stars Dominic West (The Wire, The Crown) and Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Paddington), with recurring cast including Medalion Rahimi (NCIS: Los Angeles), Tessa Ferrer (Grey’s Anatomy), Clayne Crawford (Lethal Weapon), Keanush Tafreshi and Raza Jaffrey (Homeland).

Behind the camera, Tony Award-winner Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth return as writers and executive producers. The series is commissioned by Paramount+ and produced in association with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, with executive producers also including David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin and Bob Yari for 101 Studios, George Clooney and Grant Heslov for Smokehouse Pictures, Alex Berger for TOP – The Originals Productions, Ashley Stern and Pascal Breton for Federation Studios/Federation Entertainment of America, alongside Michael Fassbender, Joe Wright and Keith Cox.

The original French series, Le Bureau des Légendes, was created by Eric Rochant and is a Création CANAL+ original series produced by TOP – The Originals Productions and Federation Studios. The Agency offers a fresh take on that acclaimed espionage drama, transplanting its world of covert operations, double lives and personal compromise into a new international setting.

Season 1 of ‘The Agency’ is available to stream now on Paramount+.

The Agency Season 2 premieres Sunday, 21st June 2026 on Paramount+ in the UK and worldwide.
