Slow Horses Season 6 Lands September Premiere Date On Apple TV

by Dave Elliott

Apple TV has announced that Slow Horses will return for its sixth season this September, with Gary Oldman back once again as the gloriously grimy Jackson Lamb.

The Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning espionage drama returns for a six-episode season, with new episodes rolling out weekly. Season six is adapted from ‘Joe Country’ and ‘Slough House’, the sixth and seventh novels in Mick Herron’s CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning ‘Slough House’ book series.

For those somehow still yet to enter the wonderfully miserable world of Slough House, ‘Slow Horses’ is a darkly funny spy drama following a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who have been dumped in an MI5 backwater after making career-ending mistakes. Leading them, in the loosest possible sense of the word, is Jackson Lamb, played by Sir Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour, The Dark Knight), a brilliant, foul-mouthed, cantankerous spy who frequently appears to be held together by spite, alcohol, and deeply questionable hygiene.

Season six sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner drags them into a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.

Alongside Sir Gary Oldman, the returning cast includes Kristin Scott Thomas (Fleabag, Four Weddings and a Funeral), Jack Lowden (Dunkirk, The Gold), Saskia Reeves (Luther, Belgravia), Christopher Chung (Waterloo Road, Doctor Who), Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Peaky Blinders, Detectorists), Rosalind Eleazar (Harlots, Deep Water), Joanna Scanlan (The Thick of It, No Offence), Samuel West (All Creatures Great and Small, Mr Selfridge), Ruth Bradley (Guilt, Humans), Tom Brooke (Bodyguard, Preacher), Jonathan Pryce (The Crown, Game of Thrones) and Hugo Weaving (The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix). They are joined by new addition Lenny Rush (Doctor Who, Am I Being Unreasonable?).

The series is produced for Apple TV by See-Saw Films, with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Adam Randall, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Oldman serving as executive producers. Season six is adapted for television by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe, with Adam Randall returning to direct.

The complete first five seasons of ‘Slow Horses’ are available to stream now on Apple TV.

Slow Horses’ Season 6 premieres Wednesday, 16th September 2026 on Apple TV. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
