‘Trigger Point’ Series 4 Trailer Teased During ITV World Cup Coverage As Vicky McClure Returns To ITV

by Dave Elliott

ITV has dropped a first glimpse at the upcoming fourth series of Trigger Point, with a brand-new teaser trailer set to air during the World Cup games this summer.

The hugely popular bomb disposal drama will return later this year, with Vicky McClure (Line Of Duty, This Is England) back as fearless-but-troubled EXPO Lana Washington. As ever, that means high tension, suspicious packages, ticking clocks, and Lana probably standing far closer to something explosive than any sensible person would recommend.

The new 20-second teaser gives viewers an action-packed glimpse at what Lana and the team of bomb disposal officers, known as EXPOs, are facing this time, as they continue their work keeping the capital safe from explosive devices and terrorist threats.

The fourth series follows the success of the previous three runs, which have been streamed 91 million times and reached over 20 million viewers across ITV and ITVX. The last series was ITV’s fifth most-watched drama of 2025, and the seventh most-watched drama across all channels and streaming services. It averaged 7 million viewers, with the launch episode attracting 7.4 million.

Returning alongside McClure are Eric Shango (The Last Tree, Suspicion) as Danny, Nabil Elouahabi (Blue Lights, The Night Manager) as Hass, Natalie Simpson (North Sea Connection, Outlander) as DS Helen Morgan, and Maanuv Thiara (DI Ray, The Lazarus Project) as DCI Batra.

Guest stars for the new series include Julie Graham (Shetland, The Bletchley Circle) and Jonas Armstrong (Robin Hood, The Bay).

“I’m delighted that this thrilling series is returning for a fourth series,” commented Polly Hill, ITV’s Director of Drama. “I know audiences will be once again on the edge of their seat as Lana and the team take us on another thrilling ride to keep the capital safe.”

Vicky McClure added: “I love working with the team, we have a great time making the show and I cannot wait to continue Lana’s journey on Trigger Point.”

‘Trigger Point’ is produced by HTM Television in association with All3Media International, who distribute the series internationally.

The new series is written by Chris Brandon (Bloodlands) and directed by Jennie Darnell (Payback, Line Of Duty) and Nirpal Bhogal (DI Ray, Grace). Kristian Dench (The Capture, Red Eye) serves as series producer, with Kingsley Hoskins (The Road Trip, The Flatshare) as block producer.

Executive producers are Jed Mercurio (Line Of Duty, Breathtaking), Daniel Walker (Boat Story, The Tourist), Jessica Sharkey (Breathtaking, Derry Girls), Chris Brandon, and Vicky McClure.

Trigger Point’ Season 4 does not yet have an exact premiere date, but will air on ITV and ITVX later this year. Seasons 1-3 are available to watch now on ITVX.
