Prime Video has added eight new cast members to ‘Boys Of Tommen’, the upcoming sweeping romantic drama based on the BookTok sensation and number one New York Times bestselling book series by Irish author Chloe Walsh.
The newly announced cast includes Amelia May (Wild Cherry) as Claire Biggs, John Hewson (These Sacred Vows) as Gerard Gibson, Indy Lewis (House of David, Industry) as Lizzie Young, Alex Dunne as Hugh Biggs, Dixie Egerickx (The Secret Garden, The Essex Serpent) as Katie Wilmot, Daisy Jacob (Everything I Know About Love, Boarders) as Bella Wilkinson, Jonathan Heed (A Knock At Your Door) as Cormac Ryan, and Cathal Ó Síocháin as Ronan McGarry.
They join previously announced leads Nancy Surridge as Shannon Lynch, Conor Sánchez as Johnny Kavanagh, James O’Donoghue as Joey Lynch, and Sophie McGibbon as Aoife Molly. Prime Video also confirmed that the search for Patrick Feely is still underway.
‘Boys Of Tommen’ follows the forbidden love story of Johnny Kavanagh, the star rugby player at Tommen College who is on the verge of a professional career, and Shannon Lynch, the painfully shy new girl at the prestigious private school in Ballylaggin, Ireland. Both are carrying secrets. Johnny is hiding a potentially career-ending injury, while Shannon is dealing with a violent and troubled home life. As their connection deepens, the two teenagers from very different worlds find themselves battling the odds and trying to save each other.
The first season will adapt the opening two novels in Walsh’s bestselling series, Binding 13 and Keeping 13. The drama has been adapted for television by Poppy Cogan (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder), who also serves as executive producer alongside Chloe Walsh, wiip’s Paul Lee, Hope Hartman and Sean Flanagan, Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, James Seidman and Annika Patton, and Drama Republic’s Greg Brenman and Deena Butt.
The series is directed by Brendan Canty (Christy), with Ingrid Goodwin as series producer. It is produced by global independent studio wiip in association with Amazon MGM Studios, with Metropolitan providing local production services.
The drama is part of Prime Video’s growing slate of international scripted series and book-to-screen adaptations, and will premiere exclusively on the streaming service in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
