‘The Paper’ will be making headlines again this September, as Sky confirms the second season of the US comedy will land in the UK on Sky and streaming service NOW.
The mockumentary comedy comes from Greg Daniels (The Office US) and Michael Koman (Nathan for You), and follows the documentary crew who once immortalised Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in ‘The Office’ as they turn their cameras towards a new subject: a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher desperately trying to revive it.
Season two of ‘The Paper’ picks up after the Toledo Truth Teller has swept the Ohio Journalism Awards. Ned sets out in search of a proper journalistic crusade, taking aim at a local private club and putting the paper at risk in the process. Meanwhile, Ned and Mare try to work out what is going on between them, Esmeralda struggles to find her place, and the rest of the staff slowly begin to mature as reporters.
The returning cast includes Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Tim Key, Ramona Young, Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., Alex Edelman, and Oscar Nuñez.
New guest stars for season two include Jon Lovitz (The Simpsons), Andy Richter (Conan), Lisa Gilroy (Jury Duty), Matt Braunger (Agent Carter), Toks Olagundoye (Family Guy, Beavis and Butt-Head), and Phil Hendrie (The Phil Hendrie Show).
‘The Paper’ is created, written and executive produced by Greg Daniels under his Deedle-Dee Productions banner, alongside Michael Koman. Executive producers are Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas. The series comes from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and was acquired for Sky by Katie Keenan and Lucy Criddle.
‘The Paper’ Season 2 premieres Thursday, 10th September 2026 on Sky and NOW in the UK, with all episodes available from launch. The series airs Wednesday, 9th September 2026 on Peacock in the USA.
