Channel 4 has announced ‘Complicit‘, a new six-part murder mystery starring Claire Goose (Gone, The Bay) and exploring what happens when one split-second lie threatens to tear apart an entire family.
Created and written by Caroline Carver (The Bay, Grace), the drama comes from Tall Story Pictures and Metropolitan Pictures, and peers into the shadows of a seemingly ordinary suburban neighbourhood and the decidedly less ordinary secrets being kept by its residents.
Claire Goose stars as Jen Molloy, alongside Moe Dunford (House Of Guinness, The Dry) as Jen’s lover, Damian Barr, and Jason O’Mara (The Lincoln Lawyer, The Man in the High Castle) as her husband, Chris Molloy.
Jen’s problems begin when she slips back home following a night of passion with a man who is very much not her husband. When a death follows, a split-second lie threatens to destroy everything she holds dear. With protecting her family potentially meaning allowing a killer to walk free, Jen is faced with a rather horrific choice.
‘Complicit’ explores the ripples caused by that single untruth, along with the contradictions of how far people will go to protect everything they love while still being pulled towards something far more dangerous. And, as ever with suburban thrillers, keeping a secret is only useful if it actually stays secret.

Carver leads the writing team, with additional episodes written by Evan Placey (The Bay, The Tattooist of Auschwitz), Tom Farrelly (Fool Me Once, Lazarus) and Fran Harris (Blue Lights, Clean Sweep).
Brian O’Malley (Frauds, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue) directs, while Patrick O’Donoghue (The Walsh Sisters, The Tourist) and David McLoughlin (KIN, How to Get To Heaven From Belfast) serve as producers.
Executive producers are Catherine Oldfield (The Bay, Bancroft, Trauma) and Jenna Robbins (The Bay, We Hunt Together) for Tall Story Pictures, alongside Catherine Tiernan (Wednesday, The Tourist S2) for Metropolitan Pictures.
‘Complicit’ is a co-production between Tall Story Pictures, part of ITV Studios, and Metropolitan Pictures, made in association with Channel 4, ITV Studios, Virgin Media Television Ireland, Screen Ireland and the Coimisiún na Meán Sound & Vision Fund. ITV Studios will handle international distribution.
‘Complicit‘ will air on Channel 4 in the UK. A premiere date has not yet been announced.
