‘The Pitt’ Season 3 Adds 7 Recurring Cast Members Including Chris Diamantopoulos & Hannah Ware

The doors of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center are going to be even busier next season, as The Pitt has added seven new recurring guest stars for Season 3, including Chris Diamantopoulos (Dark Matter, The Lincoln Lawyer) and Hannah Ware (The First, The One).

Joining them are Stephen Chang (Bosch: Legacy, The Last of Us: Part II), Barry Clifton (The Madison, The Thing About Pam), Lawrence Kao (Criminal, Walker: Independence), Brent Sexton (Deadwood, The Madison) and JB Tadena (The Adventures of Cliff Booth, Kung Fu).

As you might expect from a medical drama, most of the newcomers are arriving at PTMC in need of treatment. Chang plays Emergency Department patient Mitch Connors, Clifton is patient David “Bear” Burton, Kao plays patient Harold Joslyn, Sexton is patient Daryl Oates, and Ware takes the role of patient Charlotte Boyle.

However, two of the additions will be on the other side of the hospital bed. Diamantopoulos plays Dr. Asher Grossman, the Chief Medical Officer of PTMC, whilst Tadena joins as PTMC physician Dr. Reed Thomas.

‘The Pitt’ follows the doctors and nurses working in the emergency department of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, with each season unfolding across a single 15-hour shift in real time. The drama stars Noah Wyle (ER) as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, who continues to deal with both the relentless demands of the ER and the psychological toll of the job.

Season 3 shifts the action into autumn, taking place on Thursday, 12th November 2026, the day after Veterans Day and a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving. That change in season is also set to have a major impact on the sort of emergencies arriving through the doors.

Speaking about where Robby is when the series returns, Wyle said, “Season 3 is about doctors benefiting from being patients. We’re going to see that [Robby]’s begun the therapeutic road; it’s had a positive effect. It’s fragile, and it’s not without risk and vulnerability, but it’s at least there’s forward progress.”

The colder Pittsburgh weather will also become an important part of the new season. “Weather is a factor in Pennsylvania, certainly in Pittsburgh. You sort of turn the corner into fall, and those temperatures drop. All sorts of different kinds of cases come through the doors when you’ve got slick roads: people turning on their boilers and their heaters for the first time, house fires, the homeless situation where people are out on the street and cold. The weather is a character this season, for sure.”

The new additions join a returning ensemble which includes Katherine LaNasa (Truth Be Told), Sepideh Moafi (Black Bird), Patrick Ball (Law & Order), Isa Briones (Star Trek: Picard), Shawn Hatosy (Animal Kingdom), Taylor Dearden (American Vandal), Fiona Dourif (Chucky), Shabana Azeez (In Limbo), Gerran Howell (Ludwig) and Ayesha Harris (Daisy Jones & The Six).

R. Scott Gemmill created ‘The Pitt’, which is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The Pitt’ Season 3 does not yet have a confirmed premiere date on HBO Max.
