Prime Video has dropped the official trailer for ‘The Terminal List‘ Season 2, with Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) back as James Reece for a much bigger, globe-trotting adventure when the action thriller returns this October.
Based on True Believer, the second novel in Jack Carr‘s bestselling book series, Season 2 picks up after Reece finished his list and sees the former Navy SEAL searching for a new purpose. Unfortunately for him, that purpose appears to involve considerably more people shooting at him.
Where the first season of ‘The Terminal List’ played out as a psychological revenge thriller, the new episodes expand things into a full-blown international espionage story, taking Reece across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
The new trailer sees Reece pulled into another conspiracy, one which stretches from Moscow to Langley and also connects to his own family’s history.
“This season is a love letter to the special operations community,” Pratt says. “I’m incredibly proud of the journey we went on and what we were able to put on screen. It was a monumental effort by a lot of people over the course of many years, and I think you can feel that commitment in every frame. Yes, it’s an action thriller, but there’s also real beauty and poetry in it. At its heart, this season is dedicated to the men and women who do this work—the people who operate in the shadows, make extraordinary sacrifices, and rarely ask for recognition. We wanted to honor them and get it right. I couldn’t be more proud of what we made.”
Joining Pratt are a number of returning faces, including Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy) as Raife Hastings, Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians) as Katie Buranek, Dar Salim (Game of Thrones) as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth (Westworld) as Jules Landry.
There are also plenty of new additions, including Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us) as Freddy Strain, alongside Costa Ronin (The Americans), Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace), Martin Sensmeier (1883), Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy) and Jeremy Bobb (Russian Doll).
As with the first season, the production has placed a major emphasis on military authenticity. Former Navy SEAL Jared Shaw and former Army Ranger Max Adams oversee the action and authenticity work, with military veterans also contributing as writers, actors, technical advisors and directors.
That includes former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza (Warfare), who joins the directing team for Season 2.
The series is executive produced by Pratt through Indivisible Productions, writer and showrunner David DiGilio, Carr, Antoine Fuqua and Kat Samick through Fuqua Films, Adams and Shaw. Amazon MGM Studios, MRC and Civic Center Media produce the series.
Prime Video says the wider ‘The Terminal List’ franchise has now accumulated more than 100 million viewers worldwide, so it is probably not surprising that James Reece is being sent on a considerably larger international mission this time around.
