Freddie Highmore’s smash hit new US show The Good Doctor has been given a UK premiere date of Friday, 27th October 2017 at 9pm Sky Living has announced.

The series follows Shaun Murphy (Highmore – ‘Bates Motel’), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome. With his condition making it challenging to connect to those around him, Shaun often finds himself alone in the world despite his prodigious skill. However, when he relocates from a quiet country life to join the prestigious St Bonaventure Hospital’s surgical unit, he sets out to challenge the expectations of his new contemporaries and battle their scepticism.

Aiding him along the way is his one advocate, Dr Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff – ‘The West Wing’). Shaun’s greatest challenge will be to navigate his new environment and forge new relationships before he can prove his extraordinary gift can be the hospital’s greatest asset.

The show also stars Antonia Thomas (‘Misfits’, ‘Lovesick’) as Dr. Claire Brown, Nicholas Gonzalez (‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘The Flash’) as Dr. Neal Melendez, Chuku Modu (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Snatch’) as Dr. Jared Kalu, Irene Keng (‘Harry’s Law’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’) as Dr. Sarah Chen, Beau Garrett (‘Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce’, ‘Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior’) as Jessica Preston, and Hill Harper (‘Homeland’, ‘Limitless’, ‘CSI: NY’) as Dr. Marcus Andrews.

The series comes from David Shore, the creator of ‘House’, and set a record when it launched in the US as ABC’s most-watched Monday night drama debut in 21 years.

The Good Doctor‘ premieres in the UK on Sky Living from Friday, 27th October 2017 at 9pm.
