‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’: Amazon Releases First Trailer For Series, Premiering October

by Dave Elliott

Amazon has released the first trailer for I Know What You Did Last Summer, a new mystery thriller series based on Lois Duncan’s novel of the same name.

Written and executive produced by Sara Goodman (‘Gossip Girl’, ‘Preacher’), ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ is based on Lois Duncan’s 1973 novel, which was also the basis of the popular film franchise. One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town – and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.

The series stars Madison Iseman (‘Jumanji’ movies, ‘Annabelle Comes Home’), Brianne Tju (‘Light as a Feather’, ‘Scream’ series), Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene (‘Stumptown’), Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom (‘Gypsy’, ‘Homecoming’), and Bill Heck (‘Locke & Key’, ‘The Alienist’).

“The best horror franchises always have another scare coming, and this ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ series from Sara Goodman is a perfectly twisted update to the iconic slasher movie,” commented Albert Cheng, COO and Co-Head of Television, Amazon Studios. “Any way you slice it, our global Prime Video customers will love this modern take on the fan favourite film.”

Goodman writes and executive produces alongside Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty, Erik Feig, Peter Guber, Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett, Craig William Macneill and Shay Hatten. The drama is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.

I Know What You Did Last Summer‘ Season 1 premieres Friday, 15th October 2021 on Amazon Prime Video UK and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
