‘Abbott Elementary’ Season 2 Gets March UK Premiere Date On Disney+
Season 2 of the excellent multi-award-winning comedy ‘Abbott Elementary‘ has been given a March UK premiere date on Disney+ the streaming service has announced.
‘Abbott Elementary’ is a workplace comedy following a group of dedicated, passionate teachers – and a slightly tone-deaf principal – as they navigate the Philadelphia public school system. Despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life, and though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do – even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.
Quinta Brunson, who recently won the Golden Globe for Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series, created and stars as Janine Teagues, and she serves as executive producer of the series alongside Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker of Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions, and Randall Einhorn. In addition to Brunson, the cast includes Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson, and Emmy Award winner Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard.
The series, which was renewed in January for season three, has been racking up awards since its launch in 2021 for both the show itself and its stars. The series picked up the TCA Awards for Program of the Year, Outstanding New Program, and Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, alongside Critics’ Choice and Golden Globe Awards for Best Comedy Series; It also landed Golden Globes for stars Tyler James Williams and Quinta Brunson, a Critics’ Choice Award for Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Emmy Awards for Sheryl Lee Ralph, along with awards for the writing, and casting on the comedy.
‘Abbott Elementary‘ Season 2 will premiere Wednesday, 1st March 2023 on Disney+ UK.
