We return with a packed new episode of the Geektown Radio podcast! This week sees Darryl from Hollywood North News joins me to talk through the latest news and reviews in TV, film and gaming.
Darryl starts things off with a review of the Ben Affleck thriller ‘Hypnotic’, which is out now on home release, before moving on to Netflix’s ‘Ragnarok’ which returned for a 3rd and final season, and teen drama ‘Cruel Summer’ on Prime Video which is back for Season 2. He also discusses his time at Witchbomb, the Starfury convention covering ‘Motherland: Fort Salem’ and ‘Warrior Nun’. Meanwhile, I review ‘Quantum Leap’ which returned on Paramount+ for part two of Season 1, ‘Ghosts US’ Season 2 which landed recently on BBC iPlayer, and the city-building/card game ‘Stacklands’, which you can find on Steam. We also, of course, discuss the premiere episodes of ‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’.
In the news section, we run through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups, and also catch up on the ongoing troubles in Hollywood, with the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike. We also bring you news of a pile of new BBC shows including a new series from ‘Happy Valley’ Creator Sally Wainwright, a crime drama starring Doctor Who’s Sacha Dhawan, and two new dramas starring Doctor Who’s Jenna Coleman!
