‘Reacher’ Lands A Season 4 Renewal Before Season 3 Even Airs

by Dave Elliott

Reacher will be returning for a 4th Season, as Prime Video announces it has renewed the drama before Season 3 has even aired, which is set to premiere in 2025.

Based on the novels by Lee Child, the drama stars man-mountain Alan Ritchson (Fast X, Titans) as Jack Reacher, a former U.S. Army military police major who now uses his extensive skills in investigative and combat whilst travelling from town to town across the United States, helping people he meets along the way.

“Reacher has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations and we are thrilled to bring the series back for an additional season,“ said Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios. “We are looking forward to more action and adventure from the immensely talented team behind the series including Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, Lee Child, Skydance, and CBS Studios.”

The upcoming third season is based on Persuader, the 7th book in the Jack Reacher series. Reacher witnesses a brutal kidnap attempt and takes the law into his own hands. He must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past. We don’t yet know which book season four will follow as they don’t tend to follow the novel releases due to each being a somewhat self-contained story.

In addition to the Season 4 renewal, Amazon also announced recently they had ordered a spin-off series which sees Maria Sten (Reacher, Swamp Thing) reprise her role as Reacher’s former squadmate turned PI, Frances Neagley. Set in Chicago, when Neagley learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice. Using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.

Before that though, Ritchson and Sten will return for season three, premiering in 2025, joined by Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart, and Olivier Richters.

Based on the novels by Lee Child, who is an executive producer on the series, ‘Reacher’ is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios. The drama is written for television by Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora (FUBAR, Prison Break), who also executive produces and serves as showrunner. In addition to Santora and Child, Ritchson will serve as an executive producer, along with Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are the executives-in-charge of the series for Skydance Television.

Reacher‘ Season 3 does not yet have a premiere date but will air on Prime Video worldwide in 2025.  If you want to keep track of this or any other show, add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.
