Geektown Awards – British TV Show of the Year 2024

by Dave Elliott

Time to wave those flags as we come to the British TV Show of the Year for 2024. This is always an interesting category as it becomes a big melting pot of drama, comedy, factual, and everything else, which would never usually compete against each other. Here is what you voted for.

British TV Show of the Year

Nominees: Clarkson’s Farm, Season 3 – Prime Video, Doctor Who, Season 1 – BBC iPlayer, Fool Me Once – Netflix, Ludwig, Season 1 – BBC One, Mr Bates vs The Post Office – ITV, Rivals, Season 1 – Disney+, Sherwood, Season 2 – BBC One

Bronze: Ludwig, Season 1 – BBC One

Silver: Mr Bates vs The Post Office – ITV

Gold Winner: Clarkson’s Farm, Season 3 – Prime Video

‘Ludwig’ may be the best comedy, and ‘Mr Bates vs The Post Office’ may be the best limited series, but neither can get past the mighty power of Jeremy Clarkson… It’s Clarkson’s Farm which takes gold, just as we prepare for the fourth season to land in 2025.

Love him or hate him, Clarkson has managed to do something which many could not… Make a farming show which is interesting, fun, and informative for the general public. The series has been hugely credited for highlighting many issues which farmers face in the UK, along with making household names of the long-suffering people who have to work with him such as farm manager Kaleb Cooper, “Cheerful Charlie” the land agent, and beloved “head of security” Gerald.

‘Clarkson’s Farm’ Season 4 is expected to land on Prime Video around May 2025.
