Sky Cinema has dropped the trailer for ‘Tinsel Town’, a new festive family comedy starring Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland (Designated Survivor, 24) and the ever-hilarious Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect, JoJo Rabbit). Seeing the man who once saved the world in 24 swap gunfights for glitter and pantomime might sound unexpected, but it’s exactly the kind of Christmas magic we didn’t know we needed.
‘Tinsel Town’ follows Bradley Mack (Sutherland), a washed-up Hollywood action hero who’s forced to take a role in a small English village’s very eccentric production of Cinderella. As snow falls and egos clash, Bradley begins to rediscover his sense of purpose and a bit of festive spirit under the firm direction of no-nonsense choreographer Jill (Wilson).
The trailer teases all the ingredients of a modern Christmas classic: fish-out-of-water comedy, heart-warming community spirit, and enough tinsel to make even the Grinch sneeze glitter.
Joining the fun is an all-star supporting cast including Katherine Ryan (The Duchess), Derek Jacobi (Gladiator II), Mawaan Rizwan (Juice), Maria Friedman (Unforgotten), Jason Manford (Waterloo Road), Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing), Danny Dyer (Rivals), Ray Fearon (Barbie), Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness), Lucien Laviscount (Emily in Paris), and James Lance (Ted Lasso), with Meera Syal (The Wheel of Time) running the show as the village’s determined director. The film also features Savannah Lee Smith (Cruel Intentions), Matilda Firth (Wolf Man), Eden Hamilton (The Railway Children Return), and newcomer Theodora Williams.
Directed by Chris Foggin (Bank of Dave), ‘Tinsel Town’ was written by Frazer Flintham, Adam Brown and Piers Ashworth, with additional material from Jake Brunger. It’s produced by Matt Williams and Pascal Degove of Future Artists Entertainment, alongside Ava Aashna Chopra, and executive produced by Laura Grange, Piers Tempest, Martin Owen and Julia Stuart.
With Sutherland trading explosions for emotional redemption and Wilson bringing her trademark wit, ‘Tinsel Town’ looks like it could be this year’s Christmas comedy hit. Expect a story of second chances, showbiz egos, and the power of a truly chaotic pantomime.
‘Tinsel Town’ premieres Friday, 5th December 2025 on Sky Cinema.
