‘Ted’ Is Back! Seth MacFarlane’s Rude Bear Returns For Season 2 On Sky & NOW In The UK

by Dave Elliott

The foul-mouthed teddy is officially back. Ted, Seth MacFarlane’s live-action comedy prequel to the hit movie franchise, is returning to Sky and streaming service NOW with its second season, landing in the UK and Ireland this March.

Set in the 1990s, ‘Ted’ picks up after the bear’s brief moment of fame has faded. Ted is back living in Framingham, Massachusetts, crashing with his best friend John Bennett and his long-suffering family. While Ted remains a spectacularly bad influence, his loyalty to John is unquestionable, even when it gets everyone into trouble.

The series stars Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy) as the voice of Ted, alongside Max Burkholder (Parenthood) as 17-year-old John, with Scott Grimes (The Orville) and Alanna Ubach (Euphoria) as John’s parents Matty and Susan. Giorgia Whigham (The Punisher) also returns as cousin Blaire.

Season two will once again consist of eight episodes, and MacFarlane is clearly enjoying being back in Ted’s fuzzy, foul-mouthed skin. In a note to fans, he said:

“We’ve made a second season of our show Ted which we are excited to share with you. The episodes represent the hard work of our fellow writers, gifted actors, and talented crew, including the visual effects team who bring the character of Ted so convincingly to life.”

He added, with typical Ted-esque restraint:

“We hope you enjoy these eight somewhat filthy, hopefully funny heartfelt episodes about a young man, his talking teddy bear, and their highly dysfunctional family. On the off chance the series is not your cup of tea, a great way to get us back is to leave all the episodes playing to completion on multiple devices throughout the house. That’ll show us.”

MacFarlane once again serves as executive producer, writer, director and co-showrunner alongside Paul Corrigan (Modern Family) and Brad Walsh (Life in Pieces). The series is produced by UCP, Fuzzy Door and MRC, and distributed by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution.

Ted’ Season 2 premieres in March 2026 on Sky and streaming service NOW. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
