Before we head further into some of the more overtly “geeky” categories, we arrive once again at Best Limited Series, celebrating dramas that were only ever intended to tell a single, complete story.
As always, that definition comes with the usual caveat. Some shows do have a habit of quietly reclassifying themselves later on… but at the point the Geektown Awards launched, these were all billed as one-off or limited runs. And once again, the past year delivered some exceptional examples of the format, covering everything from intimate personal drama to unsettling true-crime and social commentary.
Here is how you voted.

Gold Winner: Adolescence, Limited Series – Netflix
This year’s winner was never really in doubt. With more than half of the total votes cast, Adolescence dominated the category, emerging as one of the most talked-about and impactful dramas of the year.
The Netflix series struck a powerful chord with viewers, tackling difficult subject matter with sensitivity and honesty, and sparking widespread conversation well beyond its initial release. Much like last year’s winner, Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Adolescence proved that limited series can still have a huge cultural footprint when the story connects in the right way.
Behind it, there was a far closer contest for the remaining podium places. ITVX’s The Hack took silver after earning strong support, while The Beast In Me edged out Toxic Town to claim bronze, rounding out a category packed with critically praised and emotionally resonant drama.
The continued strength of this category highlights just how important the limited series format has become, allowing creators to tell bold, focused stories without the pressure of stretching them beyond their natural lifespan.
More results from the Geektown Awards 2025 are coming very soon, as we continue to reveal the TV shows, films, and games that made the biggest impression on Geektown readers over the past year.
