‘The Flash’ Movie Gets A Sneak Peek Trailer At #DCFanDome

by Dave Elliott

Today at DC Fan Dome, the movie Flash, Ezra Miller, introduced a little sneak peek at the upcoming film, due to land in 2022.

Whilst there isn’t an official synopsis for the movie, we do know it is based around the 2011 Flashpoint comic book storylines, which sees Barry Allen attempt to go back in time to prevent his mother’s murder… but in the process, totally screws up his timeline. As you can see in the clip, Barry wakes up in a very different version of world which he previously knew, which includes the distinctive pointy ears of Michael Keaton’s 1989 Batman.

Additional cast for the film includes Ron Livingston as Barry’s dad, Henry Allen (replacing Billy Crudup due to scheduling conflicts); Maribel Verdú as Barry’s mother, Nora Allen; Kiersey Clemons as Iris West (previously seen in the Snyder Cut of ‘Justice League’); Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry (father of Aquaman); And Newcomer Sasha Calle as Supergirl. The film will also see Ben Affleck return as the current DCEU version of Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Whilst we don’t see Keaton in the suit (although that is clearly the Keaton suit!), the clip does have a couple of other interesting little points. Firstly, there is a shot that seems to feature an alt-version of Barry, alongside a little glimpse of Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Secondly, there is a little reveal of Keaton’s Batmobile at the end of the clip. Whilst it cuts away before the cover is removed, any fans of the 1989 film will know that shape anywhere.

The film is directed by Andy Muschietti, based on a script by Christina Hodson. Michael Disco and Barbara Muschietti produce the movie. DC Films, The Disco Factory, and Double Dream serve as the production companies with Warner Bros. Pictures handling distribution.

‘The Flash’ movie is set to premiere 4th November 2022.
