Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Gives Us First Look At Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk

by Dave Elliott

Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, giving us our first look at Mark Ruffalo (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Poor Things) back as Dr Bruce Banner, and, more importantly, back in big green rage-monster mode as the Hulk.

The new preview sees Tom Holland (The Crowded Room, Uncharted) return as Peter Parker, who appears to be having something of a biological crisis. As he says in the trailer: “What is happening to me? I’m losing my mind. I am totally out of control, and I gotta fix whatever this is right now.”

That leads Peter to seek out Bruce Banner, who has apparently “found a way to suppress mutating DNA.” As you might expect when Bruce Banner is involved, that solution does not appear to be entirely foolproof. Banner shows Peter the device he uses to keep the Hulk under control, before offering the very reassuring advice that if Peter ever sees him without it, he should “Run!”

Naturally, this being a superhero trailer, things escalate rather quickly, and the footage sees Banner transform into the Hulk right in front of Spider-Man. It is a fun way to bring Ruffalo back into Peter Parker’s corner of the MCU, especially after ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ left Peter in a world where nobody remembers who he is.

The film also brings back Zendaya (Euphoria, Challengers) as MJ, alongside confirmed cast members Jon Bernthal (The Punisher, The Bear), Sadie Sink (Stranger Things, The Whale) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear, In Treatment).

The official logline reads: “It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.”

Destin Daniel Cretton directs the film, with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers writing the screenplay.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ premieres Friday, 31st July 2026 in cinemas.
