Whilst the UK original has ended, the US version of ‘Ghosts‘ is still going strong, and Season 3 will premiere in the UK this July.
Samantha (Rose McIver – ‘iZombie’) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar – ‘Pitch Perfect’) throw caution to the wind when they convert their recently inherited country estate into a bed-and-breakfast. Call it mislaid plans. Not only is the place falling apart, but it’s also inhabited by spirits of previous residents – whom only Samantha can see and hear. Ghosts spins the funny, heartfelt story about a newfound dream that reveals connection and self-discovery aren’t just for the living.
As we return for Season 3, Sam, Jay and the remaining ghosts unravel the mystery of which ghost passed into the afterlife. Also, Sam and Jay must relocate an owl in order to do construction on the barn to turn it into Jay’s restaurant.
The departed souls are a close-knit, eclectic group that includes saucy Prohibition-era lounge singer Alberta (Danielle Pinnock); forgotten Founding Father Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones); ’60s hippie Flower (Sheila Carrasco); upbeat ’80s scout troop leader Pete (Richie Moriarty); a Viking explorer from 1009, Thorfinn (Devan Chandler Long); slick ’90s finance bro Trevor (Asher Grodman); sarcastic and witty native from the 16th-century, Sasappis (Román Zaragoza); and Hetty, society woman and wife of a 19th-century robber baron who is Samantha’s ancestor (Rebecca Wisocky), to name a few.
Joe Port and Joe Wiseman are executive producers and showrunners. Port & Wiseman developed the US version, and exec produce along with, Mathew Baynton, Jim Howick, Simon Farnaby, Laurence Rickard, Ben Willbond and Martha Howe-Douglas, the original UK series cast and creators. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production arm.
The series has already been renewed for Season 4 by its US broadcaster, CBS.
‘Ghosts US‘ Season 3 premieres Monday, 15th July 2024 on BBC iPlayer as a boxset and will also air daily on BBC Three.
