Paramount+ has announced the long-awaited ‘Star Trek: Section 31‘ film, which sees Michelle Yeoh reprise her fan-favourite role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, will premiere in January on the streaming service.
In the movie, Georgiou, who Yeoh played in Star Trek: Discovery, joins a secret division of Starfleet. Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past.
‘Star Trek: Section 31’ also stars Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rohl (Hannibal), Emmy winner Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry). Miku Martineau (Kate) portrays a young Philippa Georgiou.
The premiere date announcement was made a New York Comic Con over the weekend, which featuring a conversation with cast members, along with executive producer and director Olatunde Osunsanmi. You can see a clip below where Rob Kazinsky talks about the idea of the movie.
