Paramount+ has revealed that not only is Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Tulsa King‘, starring Sylvester Stallone, renewed for Season 3, but it is already in production!
The series follows New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone), just after he is released from prison after 25 years and unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Okla. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a “crew” from a group of unlikely characters, to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.
The crime drama had already been casting for a few months prior to the official renewal reveal today. However, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise, after Stallone, who stars and is an exec producer on the series, signed a new deal in November which would give them the option of continuing for at least two more seasons. It’s also no great shock that Paramount+ do want more given season two set the streamer’s record for their most-watched global premiere when it launched
Alongside Stallone, the series stars Andrea Savage (“I’m Sorry”), Martin Starr (“Silicon Valley”), Max Casella (“The Tender Bar”), Domenick Lombardozzi (“The Irishman”), Vincent Piazza (“Boardwalk Empire”), Jay Will (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), A.C. Peterson (“Superman & Lois”), Garrett Hedlund (“The United States vs. Billie Holiday”), Dana Delany (Body of Proof, Desperate Housewives), Neal McDonough (Arrowverse, Yellowstone, Band of Brothers), and Frank Grillo
(Billions, DCU’s Rick Flag Sr, MCU’s Crossbones).
Creator and Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan (‘Mayor of Kingstown’, ‘Yellowstone’) serves as executive producer alongside Academy Award nominee and Dave Erickson, who also serves as showrunner. The series is executive produced by Sheridan, Erickson, Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Braden Aftergood, Jim McKay, Sheri Elwood, Ildy Modrovich and Keith Cox. It is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
