Apple TV is sending Andrew Yancy back into Florida’s wonderfully strange criminal underworld, as ‘Bad Monkey’ returns for Season 2 this December with Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers) back in the lead and an entirely original story.
The first season adapted Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling novel, but rather than moving on to another of his books, Season 2 sends Yancy into a new case created for television. After witnessing the murder of one of Florida’s top fixers, Yancy is paired with a strait-laced forensic accountant by an ambitious state attorney. Naturally, his hopes of getting his detective badge back become tangled up in something much larger.
The investigation pulls Yancy into a turf war between rival criminal organisations and an assortment of distinctly Floridian characters, including a highly educated mob boss, his rather less stable son, and a hard-edged young woman in need of Yancy’s protection.

His personal life is not getting any simpler either. Yancy is dealing with his ageing father, unresolved romantic tension with Dr Rosa Campesino, and a new environmental headache caused by a bombastic animal relocation specialist. Rosa, meanwhile, launches an investigation of her own into a mysterious rash.
Returning alongside Vaughn are Natalie Martinez (The Fugitive) as Rosa, Charlotte Lawrence and John Ortiz (American Gangster). They are joined by John Malkovich (Severance), Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Zavior Phillips.
Season 2 will also feature guest appearances from Nate Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Brent Morin, Joey Avery, Dax Shepard, Sam Jaeger, Margarita Levieva, Peter Billingsley and June Diane Raphael.

The 10-episode season once again comes from creator and showrunner Bill Lawrence through Doozer Productions, with Warner Bros. Television producing. Lawrence executive produces alongside Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses, Vaughn, Liza Katzer, Adam Sztykiel, Chris Downey and Carl Hiaasen.
The first season of ‘Bad Monkey’ is available to stream now on Apple TV.
‘Bad Monkey’ Season 2 premieres Wednesday, 2nd December 2026 on Apple TV, with new episodes arriving weekly until Wednesday, 3rd February 2027.
