Prime Video has announced the voice cast for the upcoming ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ animated series from ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ creator Bruce Timm, with J.J. Abrams & Matt Reeves exec producing. We also have a clip of the new Batman’s voice.
Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human – the BATMAN. His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.
The person with the hardest job is Hamish Linklater (‘Midnight Mass’, ‘Fargo’, ‘Legion’) who will voice Bruce Wayne/Batman, stepping into the shoes of the beloved Kevin Conroy, who tragically passed away from intestinal cancer in 2022.
You can hear Linklater’s take on Batman in the clip below:

He is joined by Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets) as Catwoman/Selina Kyle, Jamie Chung (Stone Cold Fox) as Harley Quinn/Dr. Harleen Quinzel, and Diedrich Bader (Harley Quinn, where he voices Batman!) as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. Minnie Driver (‘Starstruck’, ‘Speechless’) and Mckenna Grace (‘Young Sheldon’, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’) have also been cast in undisclosed roles.
The series is a reimagining of the Batman mythology through the visionary lens of executive producers J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm. Based on DC characters, ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ hails from Warner Bros. Animation, Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and Reeves’ 6th & Idaho. Along with Abrams, Reeves and Timm, Batman: Caped Crusader executive producers include Ed Brubaker, James Tucker, Daniel Pipski, Rachel Rusch Rich, and Sam Register.
‘Batman: Caped Crusader‘ Season 1 (it has already been renewed for Season 2), will premiere Thursday, 1st August 2024 on Prime Video UK and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
