by Dave Elliott

After the massive success of ‘Fool Me Once’ and ‘Missing You’, Netflix has announced the cast for the latest Harlan Coben adaptation, Run Away, will include James Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver, Alfred Enoch, Lucian Msamati, Jon Pointing, and many more!

Simon (Nesbitt) had the perfect life: loving wife and kids, great job, beautiful home. But then his eldest daughter Paige ran away and everything fell apart. So now when he finds her, vulnerable and strung out on drugs in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home. But it turns out she’s not alone, and an argument escalates into shocking violence. In the aftermath, Simon loses his daughter all over again, and his search to find her will take him into a dangerous underworld, revealing deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever.

The extensive cast is a smorgasbord of talent including James Nesbitt (The Missing, Cold Feet) as Simon Greene, Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey, Stella) as Elena Ravenscroft, Minnie Driver (The Serpent QueenGood Will Hunting) as Ingrid Greene, Alfred Enoch (The Couple Next Door, The Critic) as Isaac Fagbenle, Lucian Msamati (ConclaveGangs of London) as Cornelius Faber, Jon Pointing (Big Boys, Sweetpea) as Ash,  Ellie de Lange (Wolf Hall, The Serpent) as Paige Greene, Adrian Greensmith (Harlan Coben’s Shelter, Metal Lords) as Sam Greene, Ellie Henry (Hollyoaks) as Anya Greene, Tracy-Ann Oberman (Friday Night Dinner, Toast of London) as Jessica Kinberg, Annette Badland (Ted Lasso, Midsomer Murders) as Lou, Ingrid Oliver (The Thursday Murder Club, Sweetpea) as Yvonne, Maeve Courtier-Lilley (Gran Turismo, The Red King) as Dee Dee, Finty Williams (The A List, Six Minutes To Midnight) as Enid Corval, Joe McGann (Kaos, Vera) as Wiley Corval and Amy Gledhill (Big Mood, Starstruck) as Ruby Todd.

“Jimmy Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Alfred Enoch, Lucian Msamati and Minnie Driver – the cast is an embarrassment of riches,” commented Coben. “I can’t wait to start filming.”

In keeping with previous Harlan Coben adaptations, ‘Run Away’ will relocate the story from the US to the UK. Filming will commence around Manchester and the North West of England this month. Once again, the drama comes from Quay Street Productions (Fool Me Once, Missing You), with Danny Brocklehurst (Fool Me Once, Brassic, Ten Pound Poms, Shameless) as lead writer.

“It’s an enormous pleasure to be reteaming with Netflix, Harlan and the amazing Quay Street Productions team to produce another twisty thriller,” adds Brocklehurst. “Fool Me Once’s phenomenal success has set a high bar but with Run Away’s emotionally universal storyline and great cast, hopefully we can give audiences another fantastic ride”.

Harlan Coben, Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, Danny Brocklehurst are exec producers, with Guy Hescott (Without Sin, Missing You) as series producer and Will McDonagh (Significant Other) as producer.
