Can’t Let It Go? ‘Frozen: The Hit Broadway Musical’ Is Now Streaming on Disney+

by Dave Elliott

For Frozen fans who just can’t “Let It Go” (because once a Frozen fan, always a Frozen fan), Disney+ has just dropped something cooler than Olaf’s carrot nose in a snowstorm… and just in time to rescue us from the UK’s sweltering heatwave.

‘Frozen: The Hit Broadway Musical’ is now streaming exclusively on Disney+, bringing the West End’s jaw-dropping production straight to your sofa. No need to melt on the Tube or brave the Theatre Royal queue in 30-degree heat. Just blast the fan, grab something iced, and settle in for a snow-drenched escape to Arendelle.

Captured live at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the show stars Samantha Barks as Elsa and Laura Dawkes as Anna, backed by the incredible cast of the hit London production. This is the beloved story of sisterhood, bravery and magical chaos you know and love… now with more glitter, more snow, and more chances to loudly sing along.

Elsa accidentally plunges her kingdom into eternal winter, Anna teams up with a rugged ice guy, a hyper-friendly snowman and a reindeer with good instincts, and together they set off to save Arendelle. It’s got peril, jokes, a sauna bit, and yes, that dress transformation moment.

The musical includes all the iconic songs from the film, including “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”, “For the First Time in Forever” and the scream-it-from-the-sofa classic “Let It Go”. Plus, there are 12 brand new songs written for the stage by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the Oscar-winning duo behind the original soundtrack. The book was written by Jennifer Lee, who also wrote and directed the animated classic, so this version is just as official as it is fabulous.

It’s the perfect antidote to this week’s melting pavements and sunburned garden naps. What better way to cool off than by disappearing into a world of snowstorms, icy palaces and magical reindeer?

The arrival of the Broadway musical is the latest expansion of the Frozen universe. Between the two films, the behind-the-scenes documentary Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2, charming shorts like Once Upon a Snowman, and sing-along versions for the whole family, Disney+ continues to be the ultimate destination for all things Frozen.
