‘MobLand’ Renewed For Season 2 On Paramount+ Following Massive Global Success

by Dave Elliott

MobLand, the gritty crime saga from Guy Ritchie and ‘Top Boy’ creator Ronan Bennett, is officially returning for a second season on Paramount+, after racking up over 26 million viewers worldwide. The show now holds the title of the second most-watched original series ever on the platform, trailing only behind ‘Landman’, and has topped the charts both domestically and internationally, including a run at #1 in the UK.

A fierce blend of mob drama and prestige television, the series made a splash with its premiere back in March and spent five consecutive weeks in Nielsen’s Top 10 SVOD Original Series rankings. It also marked Guy Ritchie’s first foray into television for Paramount+, joining forces with acclaimed writer Jez Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari, Spectre) and David C. Glasser of 101 Studios.

“Mobland has become a resounding triumph,” said Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount. “We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon.”

Jez Butterworth, whose exclusive overall deal with Paramount+ and Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios has now delivered two hits (also including ‘The Agency: Central Intelligence’), added:

“Collaborating with Chris, David, Guy and our stellar cast has been nothing short of inspiring and I’m excited to dive into the second season of Mobland.”

David C. Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios, shared how the project came to life following a whirlwind trip across the UK to secure Guy Ritchie, who helped shape the vision into one of the streamer’s biggest breakout hits to date.

Starring Tom Hardy (Venom: The Last Dance), Pierce Brosnan (Die Another Day), and Helen Mirren (The Queen), the series follows two powerful mob families locked in a brutal turf war that threatens to shatter empires and loyalties alike. The supporting cast includes Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), Lara Pulver (Da Vinci’s Demons), Mandeep Dhillon (CSI: Vegas), and Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy), among others.

‘Mobland’ Season 1 premiered on Sunday, 30th March 2025, in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia, before rolling out internationally on 30th May. It is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Mobland’ Season 2 does not yet have a premiere date but will air on Paramount+ in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
