Paramount+ UK & Ireland has revealed first-look images and details for ‘The Revenge Club’, a six-part darkly comic thriller premiering this December.
Based on J.D. Pennington’s debut novel The Othello Club and adapted for television by Gabbie Asher (The Girlfriend, Sanctuary), ‘The Revenge Club’ follows six lonely strangers who meet at a divorce support group, all nursing heartbreak and betrayal. Bonded by their shared misery, they form an unlikely alliance and concoct a plan to get even with their exes. What begins as small-scale revenge, involving forged exam papers, tarot cons and rat invasions, soon escalates into something far more dangerous. As the chaos grows, the group starts to question whether vengeance feels better than love.
The ensemble cast includes Martin Compston (Line of Duty, Mayflies) and Aimée-Ffion Edwards (Slow Horses, Peaky Blinders) as Emily and Calum, alongside Meera Syal (Mrs Sidhu Investigates, The Kumars at No. 42), Sharon Rooney (Barbie, Jerk), Douglas Henshall (Shetland, Who Is Erin Carter?), Chaneil Kular (Sex Education, Accused) and Amit Shah (Mr Bates vs. The Post Office, Happy Valley). They’re joined by Owen Teale (Game of Thrones, Line of Duty), Aoife Kennan (Vera), Rob Malone (The Witcher), Niamh Walsh (Smother), Wil Coban (The Boys in the Boat), Christina Bennington (Halo) and Eoin Duffy (The Dry).
The series is produced by Gaumont UK, with executive producers Alison Jackson and Jess Connell, alongside Gabbie Asher and J.D. Pennington. Episodes are directed by Tim Kirkby (Fleabag, Don’t Forget the Driver) and Daniel O’Hara (The Red King, Stay Close), with Margot Gavan Duffy producing.
